Computers for towers, or anyone are a way of life. They are source
of communication, record keeping, presentations, information, purchasing, etc..
To have your computer, or computer system go down for any reason could be
financially devastating to your towing or wrecker business.
Thus I found an
article in tow times about the importance of protecting your computer system.
As an E-Commerce Manager I depend on computers for about
98.999% of my job. So I have a few additional tips that might save your office
staff, or you, some pain.
1-Have a backup system or laptop ready to go if your main
system breaks down.
2-Have at least two forms of backup besides the hard drive like
an online backup system and an external hard drive.
3-Have set rules for employees on where they can visit and
what they can download..period
4-If you have to download make sure to at least do a
preliminary online check before opening a file. This is to be done in tandem with
your updated virus software. I usually go to www.virustotal.com
These are just a few tips..but it is a subject of the highest importance to
protecting your business.
